It’s been quite the adventure yet again to follow through with the Legend of Gardyan Book II: Sign of the Owl release. The fact that it has been rather quiet in the blog lately is proof of it. A little recap and roadmap about what is happening behind the scenes right now and what is still to come:

Recap September / early October: One release, but actually three

Many things have lined up in 2026, making it a true quest to follow through with the Legend of Gardyan Roadmap. While the Sign of the Owl release on October’s Hunter’s Moon had been set early on, there were plenty of other things to accomplish first.

The Oddyssey of Releasing the SotR Audiobook

While I practically had finished the Sign of the Raven audiobook in April already, several guidelines and changing format requirements made this mission particularly frustrating in 2026.

I started the SotR audio chapters in 2024 when there hadn’t been many standards for digital voices in audiobooks. Nonetheless, i was very picky with the final edits which resulted in a two years long production process.

Just when I finally had finished said process, new formats for digitally voiced audiobooks came into place for some major platforms, rendering my entire work of two years nearly useless. I had to start all over again and do a two years work within one month to at least meet the postponed audiobook release date in September. Luckily, it worked out and allowed me to follow through with a few other topics on the LoG to-do-list for 2026 in time.

A Live Audiobook on Spotify

After mastering the workflow and release routines for the Sign of the Raven audibook, I decided to do things a bit differently with the audiobook and audio chapters for Sign of the Owl.

Spotify turned out as very helpful there and curently is the only audiobook provider I deem 100 % indie author friendly in its concept. Spotify for Authors is a great tool—not only for publishing audiobooks in general but also for submitting live changes whenever an authors feels like it.

There are no unneccessary file requirements other than to upload each chapter seperately in well established formats such as .mp3 or .wav which enhances the publishing process greatly. A fact that inspired me to try something new: a live audiobook for Sign of the Owl.

Roadmap October 2026: SotO Release, PR Boxes & Live Audiobook

A lot has happened in October already regarding the continuation of the Legend of Garyan series. The launch for Sign of the Raven has been prepared on Amazon, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Waterstones and Spotify. Besides, new merch items have been added to the store and will continue to be added. More on that later.

Sign of the Owl live Audiobook & Audio Chapters

New chapters for the SotO audiobok will be published weekly on the website as well as on Spotify, meaning that Spotify Premium members and everyone who bought the audiobook are able to listen to the first few chapters already by the time the Sign of the Owl eBook and paperback release on October 26th.

The full audiobook should be accomplished in mid to late spring 2027. You can get to the audiobook on Spotify via the Sign of the Owl book page or by simply following the Spotify card below.

PR Boxes for Legend of Gardyan’s biggest Supporters

Legend of Gardyan followers on Instagram might know it already: I’ve teamed up with a good friend of mine from Michigan to launch the LoG PR boxes. The first few boxes will be sent as an exclusive gift to the series’ biggest supporters.

There are a few people who have been with me since the Sign of the Raven release in 2025 and were the first to leave a review and create stunning posts about the book. More than that, have they been encouraging me when my reach on social media was still rather small. It is only fair that they are the first to receive a PR box.

Additionally, everyone who has left a review on Goodreads for SotR and / or SotO before will receive a physical copy of the book they’ve reviewed. PR boxes and copies will ship between Samhain (Halloween) and Thanksgiving.

Online Sign of the Owl Release Party

After talks with my support team, I’ve decided to plan a little release party for Sign of the Owl. There will be a live chat on YouTube for the new book trailer and everyone who wants to join is welcome! I will post the link when the time comes and am looking forward to celebrate the SotO release with all of you on Hunter’s Moon!

Roadmap November 2026: Merch Goodies & Collabs

As already mentioned before, I am currently collaborating with a friend and her upcoming online book store for the Legend of Gardyan PR boxes. It is planned to establish single boxes for each, Sign of the Raven and Sign of the Owl, as long-term items in both, her shop and the Red Raven Messenger Shop.

People who would like to buy those boxes will have the option from early to mid November on when the overall costs for purchase and shipping have been calculated.

Social Media collaborations with reviewers and supporters will continue as they have up to now. The most beautiful review quotes are to receive their spotlight on Legend of Gardyan’s Instagram profile. If time allows for it, the social media collaborations will be extended to other platforms as well.

Roadmap December 2026: A little Yule surprise

Not to reveal too much, but I have a little surprise in mind for December. There is one big topic on my LoG to-do-list still which I haven’t gotten around to yet. More details about this shall be revealed when the time has come.

For now I wish you all a continued magical spooky season and am looking forward to continuing with my beloved fantasy journey with you.

kind regards and blessed be
