Sign of the Owl
Follow the paths of the veil when the Legend of Gardyan continues with the Sign of the Owl.
The owl is known as a bird of wisdom, yet it also is considered a messenger of death. His watchful eyes know secrets no man has ever come to witness. And his wings are said to travel beyond the borders of the mortal world. Â
Majestic and calm, the owl rests in branches hidden. In silence it observes what is about to unfold. But when it stirs and opens the hunt, its prey finds its life thread cut within an instance. Fear the claws of the owl. For they knew how to kill before you knew your name. Fear the blades of Valalmahar.

Sign of the Owl completely pulled me into its world from the very beginning. I loved the blend of dark fantasy, ancient magic, and rich lore. Uncovering the mysteries and history as the story unfolded was so deeply satisfying. It adds so much depth to the world.

Dark Legends & Fairytales
The second book of the Legend of Gardyan series follows the story of Azana Azona, matriarch of Nemesava and clan mother to Radu Corvinus, protagonist from the series book one Sign of the Raven. Born to house Valalmahar as heir to the Nemesian throne, Azana has experienced cruelty, loss and darkness when she was not yet ready to rule over her mother’s realm. Yet she was forced to rise to the task regardless.
Memories of the past begin to haunt Azana once more as the Ashen Host reveals the true extent of its sinister plans in order to resurrect the bloodline of Valalfyr. A Nemesian matriarch must choose between unforgiving resentment and considerate long-term strategies in order to save her people and Gardyan on a whole.
Brynn Danu’s writing style once more captivated me in the second book. I love how elegantly—almost lyrically—she tells the story. I particularly enjoyed the protagonists’ journeys across different worlds and eras. That was fantastic and added a lot of suspense to the book. But there are also murders, betrayal, romance, and battles—it has it all.

A word before you start reading…
The world you are about to enter is not an entirely gentle one. Here, blades bite as deeply as passions burn, and the shadows are thick with both desire and blood. Within the novel’s pages, you will find moments of tenderness entwined with violence, and beauty bound to cruelty.
This tale is meant for those unafraid to face the darker paths of the heart and the sword. Be aware.
I am officially satisfied because Sign of the Owl took every ounce of trauma and political betrayal from Sign of the Raven and turned the dial up to eleven, proving that if book one was a slow-burn match, this sequel is the entire forest fire.
