Readers drawn to the moral complexity and ferocity found in the works of Andrzej Sapkowski, John Gwynne, and George R.R. Martin will find much to admire in Danu’s storytelling. This is a fantasy where power is inherited, violence has weight, and every choice leaves a legacy.

Notes from the Author:
Blessings, Wanderer…
My name is Brynn Danu and I am the author of the Legend of Gardyan series. Since it is common these days, to provide a self-indulgent author profile, I shall do what I deeply despise: talk about myself.
As might have become apparent, I love epic stories and epic worldbuilding alike. I enjoy painting pictures with words and will shamelessly continue to do so with any approriate tool that helps me visualise my ideas. My books are often described as high fantasy, but I think there is more to it.
I went into this expecting a casual little fantasy read and instead got hit with dragons, ravens, foxes, and massive political drama over a literal triple murder. Immaculate. The absolute best part of this book is how the women literally run the world. they are gorgeous, lethal, and politically terrifying.

I try to reconstruct a rather old-fashioned style of writing epic stories with my writing, taking inspiration from traditional storytelling of fables and fairy tales as well as from poetry, stage plays and prose.
Certainly, my books cannot be described by a single genre either. While epic dark fantasy might be the main genre, horror (and eldritch horror in particular), dark romance, historical fiction, mystery, psychological thriller and folklore definitely pose the undercurrent of my tales.
Recommended to readers who enjoy dark, epic fantasy that has distinct complex lands, bloodlines, and epic building tension from page 1. Brynn writes with such heart and passion that you can feel everything building and vividly picture each scene.

This is not by accident. I grew up with a wide range of classic European and African mythology. Later, I developed a deep love for horror movies and thrillers alike. I’ve also always been into the dark chapters of human history, with a personal interest in ancient, medieval and colonial times.

All this might be greatly reflected in the Legend of Gardyan series. Which might have become a fluffy fairy tale, had life not come in between… I started writing on this series over two decades ago, and am happy that I finally found the courage to start publishing.
Brynn has a way of capviating and emulating a world like no other, elivating each characters as if you are their with them. The rich History and story building is impeccable and angelic. The backstories, the letters, the combat and conflictions put me in awe and eagerness wanting more nor wanting the story to end.

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my releases. I really do appreciate the feedback and positive reactions to what I would deem my literary life’s work.
kind regards,
Brynn Danu
