Update on Sign of the Raven: Phase II

It’s been a while since the last update. But writing and proofreading a fantasy novel takes time. In the past few months, there have been great efforts to bring out the manuscript’s full potential, and Phase II has now officially been launched.

Beta readers will soon get to work and preparations for the release are about to start. I hope everyone, who has enjoyed the online chapters so far, will continue to follow the project and provide valuable feedback.

AI Shenanigans

While opinions on AI in book publishing are divided, I feel comfortable to say that creating visuals and audio for Sign of the Raven with this technology has been an exciting process. There is more to artificial intelligence than one might assume. AI animation in particular has grown on me for some strange reason, and I was able to generate some magnificent motion clips for this project.

Currently, I’m continuing with the creation of animations for some of my most beloved book characters. Two of them, Bozani and Radu, have developed into a fan favourite power couple of sorts, It’s so much fun writing those two. They’ve been a great source of strength for me over the years. To see them in motion at last is something very special to me.

I’m not quite certain yet what to think of AI voices, but so far, I’ve been enjoying creating some test audios for the book. Considering to maybe use them for a complete audiobook, so stay tuned for further updates on that!

Big Challenges Ahead

One of the biggest challenges for the upcoming months will be finding my target audience. Legend of Gardyan is specifically dedicated to lovers of fantasy and horror. However, there’s so much more at play in this my fantasy world. Topics like mixed heritage, feminism, dark history, social conflicts, just to name a few, all play their part in this epic.

I might embark on a bit of a journey soon to see who my story truly resonates with. Then there’s also the promotion of the book. Several ideas have crossed my mind for this and will come to fruition over the next few weeks, so stay tuned for more!

Sign of the Raven: Release Trailer

“Sign of the Raven absolutely delivers on immersive, high fantasy world-building in a way that demands your full attention …. and honestly…. I loved that. This is not a “skim and vibe” kind of fantasy. You have to settle in, pay attention, and let the world unfold around you piece by piece. And once it does? It’s incredibly rewarding.”

Character Portrait: Radu

“Sign of the Raven” by Brynn Danu is a dark epic fantasy novel rooted in blood, inheritance, and perilous magic that scars not only the land, but the souls bound to it. The story unfolds with a purposeful pace, allowing power, violence, and consequence to shape the narrative as much as prophecy and fate

“From the very first chapter, I felt dropped into a layered, living world filled with ancient lore, political tension, shifting alliances, and magic that feels both dangerous and deliberate.
